NYFW Fall 2012: Marchesa

And then there's Marchesa....breathtaking, mind blowing, amazing, gorgeous, total perfection!  Marchesa's Fall 2012 collection was inspired by William-Adolphe Bouguereau's 19th Century painting A Soul Brought to Heaven.  Tulle gowns, shimmers of gold, and stunning embroidered pieces swept the ground as models graced a path of a somewhat heavenly nature.  Each piece more glamorous than the next.  Whilst the majority of the pieces represented a more angelic side symbolised through wings and feathers, other pieces represented a somewhat darker place and a level of mortality... the skeleton and muscles were incorporated in pieces throughout the collection.  However, leave it to the girls from Marchesa to see the beauty in all. 

NYFW Fall 2012: The Rachel Zoe Collection

It's that time of the year again, New York Fashion Week Fall 2012! Thought I'd begin my fashion week coverage with the one and only Rachel Zoe collection. The Rachel Zoe collection has previously been shown in the form of a presentation. For first time this season the collection made it's way down the runway! Rachel Zoe's Fall 2012 collection was inspired by a little rock and roll...late sixties London. With 46 looks in total, the collection includes a little faux fur, Rachel's signatory jumpsuits, dresses, tailored blazers and pants, coats and my personal favourites, the sequin dresses. The collection also features Rachel's new addition to her empire.. the Rachel Zoe accessories, which includes jewellery and cold weather accessories. Amaze..

IFB Conference LIVE from New York!

 It's that time of the year again..The Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference in New York!  Whilst I wish I was in attendance, I thought the next best thing would be to stream it LIVE.  The conference begins in just a few hours.

Carly Paiker for Sportsgirl

If you haven't already heard, Sportsgirl's newest collaboration lies with jewellery designer Carly Paiker.  I was fortunate to meet Carly during fashion week, and view her amazing pieces.  Of course, it didn't surprise me to hear about her collaboration with Sportsgirl, Carly's pieces are always fresh, fun and unique.  For her Sportsgirl collection, Carly was inspired by 'native American Indian textiles'.  The eight piece collection remains true to Carly's aesthetic, incorporating her signatory cuffs, statement rings, bangles, earrings and necklaces...each piece 'fabricated in exotic luxe leathers, stones and crystals'.  The collection has just hit Sportsgirl and will definitely be selling fast with prices ranging from $40-$70!  Yes I have my eye on the 'Flower Ring'!

Taylor Swift for Vogue US

          There's no denying, I absolutely adore Taylor Swift!  This month Taylor is gracing the cover of Vogue US February 2012...OBSESSING!  Shot alongside her instruments, Taylor looks stunning on the pages of Vogue dressed in Rodarte, Jil Sander and Rag & Bone...and yes her new 'bangs' were specifically cut for the shoot.  I can't wait to get my hands on the issue!  Be sure to check out all the behind the scenes footage.

            

Mulberry Spring 2012 Campaign

I can't believe the first week of 2012 is already over..so far so good!  Hope everyone had an amazing holiday break.  It's summer here in Australia so therefore I was instantly drawn to Mulberry's current Spring 2012 campaign.  Shot by the seaside, the campaign features models alongside oversized ice cream and candy, embracing Mulberry's Fashion Week inspiration.
