Lily Donaldson for Harper's Bazaar US

I am completely obsessed at the moment with the current January 2011 issue of Harper's Bazaar US, the subscribers special edition.  The one and only Lily Donaldson graces the cover looking ever so adorable!  The editorial features Lily in the latest spring pieces straight from the Spring 2011 runway, including Chloe, Donna Karen, Gucci, Dior, Calvin Klein, Lanvin, Missoni, Prada, Michael Kors, Dolce and Gabbana, Armani, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Valentino and Chanel.  What makes this editorial so special, are Lily's cute animal companions!  Here are a few of my favourite shots.

Pre-Fall 2011- Chanel and Vera Wang

This Chanel collection was unique.. An unexpected low key event from Mr Lagerfeld.  This show was completely opposite to his highly anticipated, jaw dropping, extravaganzas!  According to Lagerfeld, "After the Grand Palais, I had to do the opposite."  Needless to say, the collection was, as usual, exquisite!  Themed around Paris-Byzance, the collection was inspired by 'the Empress Theodora and the lost culture of Byzantium,' with a modern twist of course.  Gold, Gold and more Gold, embellishment, stones, texture, jewelled headbands and leather.   Completely amazing!
Vera Wang decided to tone down her collection this Pre-Fall season opting for a different direction that is "more schoolgirl" according to Vera.  Schoolgirl you ask?  With a little of the signature Vera twist of course... Knee high socks, kilts, cardigans, sheer leggings sewn to shorts.  As for her formal wear, her main aim was to keep it fresh and young, but not forgetting to embrace her typical Vera pieces.

Taylor Swift!

As a Taylor Swift fan it only seemed right that I devote a post to her for her 21st Birthday.  Taylor's lucky number thirteen, which is plastered on her wrist every chance she gets, is symbolic of her birthday on the 13th December.  Once a little country star, Taylor Swift is now dominating the world, literally!  According to Forbes, in the past 12months Taylor has earned over $45 million.  Taylor has recently been named 'Entertainer of the Year' by Entertainment Weekly, 'Artist of the Year' at the CMT where Maroon 5 even covered one of her songs and not forgetting she won awards at the CMA and AMA in 2010.   Her latest album 'Speak Now' sold over 1 million copies in the first week in the US alone.  I loved her first self titled album, along with her second album 'Fearless', but 'Speak Now' is on a whole other level!  A few of my particular favourites include 'Dear John' written for John Mayer, 'Innocent' written for Kayne West, 'Mine', 'Haunted', 'Story of Us' and of course 'Back to December' written for Taylor Lautner.  'Back to December' is Taylor's first apology song written in regret.  Taylor performed 'Back to December' at both the CMA's and AMA's, and whilst I loved her gown at the CMA's her performance at the AMA's was beyond major!  She had a whole new image and she incorporated Lautner's 'response' in her performance.  And as for fashion.. Taylor not only attended Fashion Week, but recently she has covered Glamour, Seventeen, and Allure magazine.   I absolutely love her Allure cover and spread, she looks amazing!

Pre-Fall 2011 - Oscar de la Renta

An Oscar de la Renta collection is the epitome of femininity, and therefore I expected nothing less from his Pre-Fall 2011 collection... Sophistication, elegance, and sheer perfection!  The range includes flawless and classic silhouettes, pretty dresses, polished pants, cute jackets and gorgeous gowns.  I love his use of colour, black and white with an unexpected twist of greens, hot pink, red, metallic and pastels.  The collection has that sense of royalty.
