Fashion Week's Best Dressed: Olivia Palermo and Rachel Bilson

One of the most important parts of fashion week, besides the shows of course, is who sat front row and what were they wearing!  After searching through my S/S 2011 fashion week images, there is one person who never disappoints... yes Olivia Palermo!  Olivia appeared at not only New York Fashion Week, but London and Paris Fashion Week.. yeah I know, I wish I was her too!  Olivia was in attendance at shows including Valentino, Mulberry, Monique Lhuiller, Emilio De La Morena and Marchesa (just naming a few!).  Here are a few outfits!

Lauren Conrad is back!

Lauren Conrad is back.. back to reality tv that is!  The end of one chapter and the beginning of another.. as Lauren Conrad left The Hills, she opened the door to a more mature part of her life.  Goodbye drama, hello fashion world domination!  Lauren Conrad has been working everyday towards her fashion career since she was 17 years old and now finally she has made it.. and we get to along for the ride!   The new reality show features the amazing Lauren Conrad empire!  According to Lauren Conrad "This time the focus is going to be on my job, and while that's still personal to me, I will also have a part of my life that can be mine."  In other words the show will focus on her professional life, rather than her personal life like we saw on 'The Hills'.  This means we probably won't see her current long term boyfriend Kyle Howard, but we will see the commotions of her best selling book launches, as well as the process and launch of her new label Paper Crown.  Lauren has come a long way from her life on Laguna Beach and I can't wait to see her new fashionista business life!  And where did Lauren's fashion career begin?...At Teen Vogue, Interning like we all do assisting on photo shoots and events as well as working in the fashion department!  And now she's actually in attendance at Teen Vogue's Young Hollywood Party! (which she worked at on one of the first episodes of The Hills)  Not forgetting to mention that in fact Teen Vogue decided to commemorate this moment by placing Lauren Conrad on the cover of Teen Vogue's November issue.  Here is a glimpse of her pretty little editorial spread!

London Fashion Week S/S 2011 - Sass and Bide

Australian home grown talent Sass and Bide, recently featured their new spring/summer 2011 collection at London Fashion Week.  I admit, not since their 'Rainbows for Kate' collection have I bought one of their pieces.  I've always been a Sass and Bide follower but this was the first time in a while, I was excited to see their new collection titled 'Papa Sucre'!  It was a little less edgy and predictable and a little more feminine, soft, flattering and pastel.  However, it still did incorporate signature Sass and Bide..now that's the type of collection I like to see!  Apparently the girls have gone a little 'Zen' which lead them into a new direction for their collection.  Whatever the reason I like it!
I have to mention how amazing the hair for the collection was... An Aussie creation by hairstylist Renya Xydis of course!  The best way to explain it?.... A messy up-style, with two reverse up braids ending in a messy up-knot, bun.  Amazing!!

Paris Fashion Week S/S 2011 - Elie Saab

I think it's evident, that I love my pastels.  Therefore, a collection entailing never ending pastels....I'm instantly infatuated!  Elie Saab... 'I die!'  I am in love with Elie's new Paris collection!  This collection is really opposite to a lot of the collections I've seen this Spring/Summer 2011 season.  Designers have been channelling their inner 1970's, experimenting with kaleidoscopic, electric and bold colours.  But Elie Saab decided to take a different approach to the 1970s and stuck to his signature gorgeous and elegant gowns and dresses!

Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 - Chanel and Valentino

I had posts lined up that would feature New York, London and Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 collections, however, collections by Valentino and Chanel literally just hit the Paris 2011 runway and they have now taken over The Lilac Mannequin!  I love both Valentino and Chanel and I always wait in anticipation for the collections to grace the runway. Karl Lagerfeld always has a way of gasping audiences at every Chanel show, by exquisite pieces and breathtaking surroundings.  And of course this collection was no exception!  Lagerfeld has a tendency to create his collections through the inspiration of his dreams..  This collection was a little different.  Lagerfeld was inspired by the 1960s film 'Last Year at Marienbad' where he recreated one of the most famous garden scenes including gorgeous fountains.  With this in mind Lagerfeld created a collection with a little rock edge including clothing with holes and unfinished edges.  But that wasn't all, the collection included typical Chanel signature pieces with a young, free spirited touch not forgetting to mention his ladylike, cute pieces.  Somehow he incorporated all elements and created a unique, detailed and exquisite collection with over 80 pieces, each with their own individual persona!
The Valentino collection carried on from the inspiration of their recent Haute Couture collection aiming at the younger generation.  I love the use of silks, frills and ruffles, lace, bows and Valentino's signature red in this collection.  Valentino's collections always have a feminine, pretty, ladylike, simple yet delicate touch.  The collection incorporated pretty dresses, elegant maxis, and for a little twist cute little shorts!  I couldn't ask for more from a Valentino collection.
And who sat front row at the events.. a few of my favourites of course!

Stay tuned for more from Fashion Week!
