Suboo's 'The Delphinium Ink' Winter collection, coming soon!

Carly Paiker for Sportsgirl

If you haven't already heard, Sportsgirl's newest collaboration lies with jewellery designer Carly Paiker.  I was fortunate to meet Carly during fashion week, and view her amazing pieces.  Of course, it didn't surprise me to hear about her collaboration with Sportsgirl, Carly's pieces are always fresh, fun and unique.  For her Sportsgirl collection, Carly was inspired by 'native American Indian textiles'.  The eight piece collection remains true to Carly's aesthetic, incorporating her signatory cuffs, statement rings, bangles, earrings and necklaces...each piece 'fabricated in exotic luxe leathers, stones and crystals'.  The collection has just hit Sportsgirl and will definitely be selling fast with prices ranging from $40-$70!  Yes I have my eye on the 'Flower Ring'!

Dream a Little Dream with Sportsgirl!

If you've walked into a Sportsgirl store lately, you probably would have noticed their amazing 'Make Believe' campaign.  This is definitely one of favourite Sportsgirl campaigns because it's all about following your dreams and believing that anything is possible!  Sportsgirl have asked bloggers to join their 'Believe' initiative and spread to word in encouraging everyone to follow their dreams. So here are the questions we have been asked to answer and share with you!
As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?
I guess you could say I've always dreamed big.  As a child I wanted to be a swimmer, a dancer, a singer and a businesswoman.
Did you make this dream come true or change your mind?
As soon as I discovered my love for fashion....everything changed!  Yes I ended up studying business, but everything I do now involves my love of fashion.  Fashion has allowed me to dream bigger than I have ever dreamed before.
What is your favourite childhood memory?
My brother and I were quite adventurous and inquisitive, so there was never a dull moment!  I remember travelling to Europe with my family, summer school holidays with friends and of course Christmas with all my cousins, counting how many Christmas beetles we could find!
The biggest dream you have right now?
I'm fresh out of University and I guess you could say 'the world is my runway!'  My biggest dream right now....NEW YORK FASHION WEEK.  I want to attend and blog New York Fashion Week, and I should probably add Paris, London and Milan to that dream too!  I always want to remain working in the Fashion Industry!
Your summer must-have pick from the current Sportsgirl range?
I'm all about metallics and sequins this season and therefore my picks would have to be:

The Steve Madden Diaries: Chapter 2

"Your feet work hard for you so the least you can do is buy pretty things to put on them!" Lauren Conrad  Once you've purchased your classic pump and wedge, it's then time to add a little sparkle to your wardrobe.  This season it's all about colour, leopard and metallic!
Colour
From purple to blue, orange, green and red..this season's biggest trend is colour.  Purchasing a pair of coloured shoes is the best way to add a pop of colour, instantly transforming as well as completing any outfit.  When it comes to wearing coloured shoes, no one does it better than Olivia Palermo and 'Blair Waldorf'!
Get the Look: My pick this season would have to be Steve Madden's Audrinaa heel which combines a little purple and blue.
Metallic
I am completely obsessed with metallics at the moment especially when it comes to shoes and bags.  What I love about metallic shoes, is that they are so versatile yet so glam!  Take a cue from Rachel Bilson and Taylor Swift both wearing metallics.

Get the Look: My pick this season would have to be Steve Madden's Allude available in gold metallic.
Leopard
And last but not least..leopard!  The thing about leopard is that is it the one trend that always returns.  Therefore, you can never go wrong purchasing at least one classic leopard heel.  I love the way both Blake Lively and Olivia Palermo have paired a leopard pump with colour!
Get the Look: My pick this season would have to be Betsey Johnson's Diskkol leopard pump.  Yes Steve Madden is the only shoe store in Australia stocking Betsey Johnson!

The Steve Madden Diaries: Chapter 1

A pair of shoes has the ability to completely transform and change an outfit. When it comes to purchasing heels, the two most essential pairs that should be in every wardrobe are a pump and a wedge.
The Pump
A classic pump can literally take you from the boardroom to the ballroom. A pump is not only versatile, but transeasonal. Most opt for a black or nude pump however, depending on the seasonal trend, may opt for a little colour, print or metallic.  How to wear a simple pump?  Look no further than Olivia Palermo, spotted all over Fashion Week wearing a black pump.
Rachel Bilson has opted for something a little different wearing a lilac pump with her outfit.
Get the Look: My pick this season would have to be Steve Madden's Bevv Pump available in black, red, blush, leopard and even glitter metallic!

The Wedge
The wedge not only looks amazing, but offers the most support. Whether it's a peeptoe or closed wedge, you really can't go wrong. Take a cue from Lauren Conrad and Clemence Poesy, opting to wear a black wedge.
Get the Look:  My pick this season would have to be Steve Madden's Westii available in black suede, leopard and natural fabric.
The team at Steve Madden selected me as one of the Top 15 Bloggers in Australia and have asked me to take part in their 'Sole Search' blogger competition, where I could become Steve Madden's Official Blogger!  To vote for me all you have to do is head over to the Steve Madden Facebook page and like 'The Lilac Mannequin' post or any post mentioning my blog.  If you would like to leave a comment you are more than welcome.

Tigerlily Summer 2011/12 Campaign

I've been a Tigerlily fan for as long as I can remember and I believe summer wouldn't be summer without a little Tigerlily!  Creative Director Jodhi Meares, photographer Jez Smith and model Elyse Taylor joined forces to shoot Tigerlily's Summer 2011/12 campaign on the beaches in Bali. The collection titled 'Leads You Elsewhere' remains true to Tigerlily's signatory beach culture. It consists of 70's inspired pieces, a warm colour palette, as well as a mixture of patterns and textures....the perfect collection for every Tigerlily girl!

Sneak Peek: Lovers and Collaborators A/W 2012

I was recently asked to shoot behind the scenes for the Lovers and Collaborators Autumn/Winter 2012 look book.  Unfortunately, due to prior commitments, I wasn't able to attend, however I was sent this clip which features behind the scenes footage of the shoot and gives you a little sneak peek at the new collection!  I will be heading to Door 121's press showing in the coming weeks, where I will be of course snapping images of the new collection....can't wait!

Michael Lo Sordo S/S 2011/12 Look Book

I was recently contacted by designer Michael Lo Sordo, who sent me his amazing new Spring/Summer 2011/12 look book. The collection, as seen during Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, is feminine and simplistic, inspired by the silhouettes of the seventies. The collection includes pleated, silk and sheer pieces, maxi skirts and dresses, mini structured dresses and skirts, cropped bodices and tailored jackets. Michael's use of colour is simple, yet striking...white and black contrasted with blue and pink pastels. However, the most intriguing element of the collection is the unique 'smoke like' print.
Michael Lo Sordo's S/S2011/12 collection "is taking 'timeless' into the future, making the Michael Lo Sordo girl as the new unforgettable essence of style."
