Today I attended Alice McCall's 10th Anniversary collection show, as part of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia 2014. The collection, In My Dreams We Were Flying, was inspired by 'the surreal and the infinite possibility of dreaming' and 'the bridge between fantasy and reality.' The Cruise collection began with pretty pastel broderie-anglaise pieces and stunning structured dresses, rompers and skirts. As it progressed, the collection began to explore the imagination.. glittery pieces, and cosmic, futuristic and mythological prints hit the runway. Digitally printed bomber jackets, pants, dresses, sweaters and envelope clutches. Footwear from Shoe Cult by Nasty Girl completed each outfit.
The runway set the scene for the collection. Giant objects hung from the ceiling including bows, planets, birds, sea creatures, love hearts and flowers.
Then there was the finale....white confetti fell from the ceiling, the perfect conclusion to a truly magical collection!
Happy 10th Birthday Alice McCall!
